Mercury Glass

A popular wedding decor piece is mercury glass. Mercury glass, also known as silvered glass, is glass that has a silvery appearance. It is made by clear glass which is mold-blown into double-walled shapes then coated on the the inside with a liquid silver nitrate solution. First created in Germany in the early 1800s, mercury glass is now manufactured into votives, candlesticks, vases and other decorative items. It is just as beautiful in a modern wedding as in a vintage or country wedding and can be seen gracing tablescapes or as a unique cake topper.
