Refreshing Summer Centerpieces

Now that summer is here and the temperature is rising, it's time to take advantage of all summer's bounty when decorating for weddings, parties and luncheons. What could look more refreshing than summer daisies paired with sliced oranges or key limes floating in glass containers? If using a color palette of yellow and orange look to oranges or lemons paired with bright yellow spider mums, dahlias or zinnias to create a "wow" effect. Use tiny key limes to create a topiary intertwined with ivy in an old stone urn. Several of these lining a long table will have the perfect rustic, garden chic look.

Lime green holds its own with neutral colors and works equally well when combined with purple or pink for pops of summer color. Lemons can be used mounded in blue and white containers of any shape. A classic look that never goes out of style. Use this idea on a guest book table or as a centerpiece with blue and white china and linens. The lemons can also be used as a unique way to hold the  place setting card. Simply write the guest's name on a leaf -shaped paper and pin to the end of the lemon. Lemons also make striking topiaries.

Other fruits can be used to showcase the beauty of nature, such as a beautiful glass bowl filled with peaches and accented with hydrangea or fig leaves.

Embrace the colors and  scents of the season! Gather summer fruits and flowers and use them creatively for any celebration.
