The Ring Bearer
The tradition of the ring bearer is embraced by some brides and not by others. Young relatives or friends participating in the wedding can bring charm and an added specialness to the ceremony. A single ring bearer can be used or more than one if a sign is being carried, for example. There is no right or wrong choice, only what is pleasing to the couple. The main consideration is that the ring bearer is old enough to understand his role in the ceremony and is able to carry out his duties. Children who are too young to act as ring bearers or flower girls can become distracting to the ceremony and cause attention to be diverted from the bride and groom. The ring bearer is usually dressed as the groomsmen, in a tiny tuxedo, a suit or casual shirt and pants with suspenders and can wear his own boutonniere. Simply adorable!
